The Big Lake Hornets end their scoring drought with a 3-0 victory against their rival, Becker Bulldogs on Tuesday night. The first goal of the night came from a Big Lake corner kick that was headed into the back of the net by a forward. The second Hornet goal before halftime came from a midfielder’s cross to a striker running onto the ball for a one touch finish into the back of the net. The third goal was 15 minutes into the second half when a forward scored from the right side of the goal with her left foot from a pass from a center midfielder. The Bulldogs had a couple last minute scoring opportunities at the end of the game. One was a 1v1 blocked by Big Lake’s freshman Goalkeeper and the second was a free kick that was blocked by Big Lake’s defensive wall outside the box. The Hornets are 4-1-1 heading into Friday night’s game versus North Branch.
