Thursday December 19, 2019, the standing room only crowd witnessed a little bit of everything. The crowd was treated to parent & senior night before the game. The 1st period of hockey included a successful penalty shot for Monticello. The Monticello Mites played at intermission along with a teddy bear toss for local children in need. The 2nd and 3rd periods of hockey were better for the Eagles after a goalie change and an adjusted mind-set and game plan by Coach Barzee.

Becker-Big Lake lost 1 to 11 against Monticello. Monticello had 3 power play goals, 1 penalty shot, 1 short-handed, and 6 even-strength goals. Becker-Big Lake had a beautiful tap-in goal by junior Jacob Boe, with assists going to Jack Beckstrom and Jestin Toulouse. Boe had positioned himself in front of the net and tapped in rebound on a shot by Toulouse that was tipped by Beckstrom.

The Eagles had 14 shots on goal and took 4 penalties. Monticello had 28 shots and also took 4 penalties.

Earlier, the Eagles JV team lost to Monticello 1-4. Sophomore Josh Lillemo scored the Eagles’ only goal on a rebound.

Upcoming for the Eagles: Saturday night, Alumni Game 7:20 pm at Princeton Ice Arena with Christmas Tournament stating Thursday 12/26 3:30 pm vs. Luvern at Super Rink #5 in Blaine.

Come out and be a part of the excitement that is Eagles hockey!
