Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Cross-Country Compete at Princeton

The Hornets ended their regular season with a tour of the Princeton Golf Course for the Tiger Invitational on Tuesday night.  Both varsity squads placed 6th in the 11 team meet.  Joesphine Lentz was the top girls’ varsity finisher at 14th.  Amelia Degan, Hannah Roberston, and Josie Parks formed a tight pack finishing within 5 seconds of each other to help in the scoring.  Emilee Doperalski finished 6th for the Hornet middle schoolers, and she continues to be one of the best middle school runners in the area.  With Kade Layton sidelined with injury, 8th grade brother, Owen, led the varsity boys with an 8th place finish.  Austin Barzee, Zachary Carlson (9), Tre Gordy, and Jayden McLearen all finished under 20 minutes.  Jack Leuer and David Guyse took 3rd and 4th respectively in the middle school race where the team finished 3.  The junior high boys have run strong all season.  The Hornets will compete in the Mississippi 8 Conference Championships next Tuesday.
