Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Big Lake Competes at Largest High School Cross-Country Meet in the Nation

The Hornets traveled to the Milaca Mega Meet, the largest single day high school cross-country meet in the country.  Over 170 schools took part in the 49th annual event that brings the best in the state of Minnesota to Stone’s Throw Golf Course in Milaca.  Mother nature played a role as lightning and rain caused the course to be evacuated for a short time.  The wet course didn’t dampen the Hornets spirit as many Big Lake middle schoolers stepped up in distance from 2 miles to 3.1 miles.  Many were up to the challenge and ran great races.  Ninth grader Kade Layton finished 2nd in the 9th grade race.  Owen Layton finished 2nd in the 8th grade race.  Due to the weather, some results are missing-most notably the 8th grade girls-NOWUPDATED.
